The Silk Non-absorbable Suture is a sterile, multifilament surgical suture made from the natural protein fibroin, sourced from the Bombyx mori silkworm. This organic silk fiber is carefully processed to remove sericin, waxes, and gums. It is then braided and coated with silicone to enhance tensile strength, smoothness, and ease of handling during surgery.

Silk sutures offer excellent handling characteristics, flexibility, and knot security, making them a surgeon-preferred material for decades. Although classified as non-absorbable, silk sutures gradually lose tensile strength over time and are often used in procedures where long-term support is not critical.
